In June 2013 Veligurov, a resident of Dudinka town, the administrative capital of the Taymyr Peninsula in northern Russia, found and brought the lost female baby bird to his grandmother's house, where he was spending the summer vacation. The rescued sparrow, which was named Abi, didn't fly away and since then has spent most her time with Veligurov, who treats Abi as his friend and plans to take it with him to his native town.
