CAIRO - Egypt's ex-president Hosni Mubarak attended a trial Sunday on charges of inciting violence and murdering protesters, state-TV reported.

Mubarak was released in corruption cases on Wednesday and placed under house arrest.

TV footage showed Mubarak and his two sons, Alaa and Gamal, former interior minister Habib Al Adli and six of his aides in the cage. Mubarak appeared on a wheelchair, wearing a civil suit for the first time.

Mubarak and his two sons hadn't attend the last trial in corruption cases for security reasons due to the turmoil hitting the country over dispersing protesters supporting ousted president Mohamed Morsi.

Mubarak settled his last case of corruption after paying the value of the gifts from the Ahram press institution, which he accepted, misusing his power.

Deputy military ruler and Prime Minister Hazem Beblawi ordered on Thursday to place Mubarak under house arrest due to the state of emergency imposed in the country since Aug. 14 for one month.

Mubarak chose to be placed in the Maadi Military Hospital and his house arrest will be lifted after the state of emergency ends. Enditem
