In 2014, Chinese mainland saw recall of 176 batches of vehicles, involving more than five million vehicles, and the majority of them passenger cars, according to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

Shanghai General Motors Co recalled imported Cadillac SRX and 2011-version Chevrolet Camaro vehicles due to defective seats. The recall, which came into effect from Aug 31, involved 19,836 vehicles manufactured from July 1, 2010, to Aug 1, 2011.
The Sino-US joint venture again recalled certain makes of its imported Cadillac SRX from Sept 26. The recall involved 107,016 imported Cadillac SRX produced between July 9 in 2009, and Aug 15 in 2014.
