Couple help mountain kids open up their minds

Liu Weimin and his wife, Zhang Jinhong, play games with children at a school in Lajie village, Northwest China's Gansu province, May 26, 2013. Liu was a member of the Gansu subsidiary of China Guodina Corp, one of the leading state-owned power enterprises in China. The couple, who are in their 50s, went to the mountainous area as volunteer teachers in 2012. They brought more than 300 books for students to read. They tell stories and teach Chinese, English and computers. "They are stuck in the mountains, but their minds are opening up through knowledge," Liu said. [Photo/Xinhua]
