BEIJING - The Foreign Ministry on Monday said it welcomed the decision by relevant sides in Yemen to agree to a five-day ceasefire, which will allow aid to be delivered.
China is deeply concerned about the humanitarian situation in Yemen, spokesperson Hua Chunying told a routine press briefing, stressing that China hoped the decision will help ease the situation.
She urged all sides to earnestly implement the UN Security Council's resolution and the Gulf Cooperation Council initiative, and settle disputes through political dialogue.
Yemen's rebel Shiite Houthi group and the army on Sunday welcomed a Saudi proposal for a ceasefire.
