CAPE TOWN -- South African President Jacob Zuma met visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Cape Town on Wednesday, with the two sides vowing to strengthen industrial cooperation.

At the meeting, Zuma thanked China's consistent support and help in South Africa's development, which he said has reflected the political trust and sincere cooperation between the two sides.

Zuma said African countries are eager to step up industrialization and strengthen their self-ability for development - a process where Chinese engagement is welcomed, especially the cooperation in industrial production.

Wang said cooperations between the two countries has yielded achievements in various fields, and China hopes they can create more win-win fruits out of the high level of political trust.

He said China-South Africa cooperation will facilitate Africa's revival and bring balance, development and stability to the world.

The two sides also pledged to work together to make the Sixth Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to be held in South Africa this year a successful event.

This year's FOCAC will focus on China-Africa industrial cooperation, building public health system and promoting peace and stability in Africa, Wang said.

The Chinese government has prioritized industrial cooperation in its relations with Africa, encouraging Chinese entrepreneurs to set up factories with local partners.

Wang arrived in South Africa on Tuesday for a two-day visit.
