6-year-old girl raped in Indian capital

NEW DELHI - A sixr-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and dumped in a park by her perpetrator late Sunday evening, police said Monday.

"The girl has been admitted to a government hospital where her condition is said to be stable. The incident happened at Naraina in the south west of the national capital. A man apparently lured her by chocolates while she was playing outside her home and raped her," the police said.

Some suspects have been detained in the incident, they said, adding they would crack the case soon.

This horrific case came just days after a fast-track court sentenced to death four men for the gangrape and murder of a 23- year-old medical student on a moving bus in the national capital last December.
