Austrian ambassador leads push for gender equality

Nearly every female ambassador and representative of international organizations currently in Beijing co-signed an article that promotes gender equality and women's rights. "It’s very good to celebrate International Women's Day," said Irene Giner-Reichl, Austria's ambassador to China. "I'm really astonished how well China celebrates this day," Giner-Reichl said, noting it's important to bring awareness to the violence and discrimination against women that still exist in some parts of the world.
