BOSTON - A suspect of the Boston Marathon bombings was captured early Friday, with a police officer killed in the manhunt, the Boston Globe reported.
The suspect was caught in Watertown near the US city of Boston after a police officer was shot dead on the campus of the elite Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), according to the newspaper. Click for Live Report
Gunfire and blasts were reported in streets near the MIT as the police are still chasing a second suspect.
It cannot be immediately confirmed whether the MIT shooting is related to the Boston bombings, which killed three people and injured over 170 on Monday.
