Photographers are invited to submit their works for The Other Hundred program, a competition aimed at finding the top 100 photos of ordinary people. The deadline for submission is April 1.
The juries include Ruth Eichhorn, director of photography of the Geo magazines from Germany, and American photographer Stephen Wilkes. The winning photos will be published, and the winners will get a reward of $300 and a book.
"We want to explore what it means to be poor, in contrast to the rich lifestyles we usually see in media. Although a majority of people are not rich, they live fulfilling lives, with dignity and accomplishment," says Peng Tingting, project manager of the program.
