In Dranang county, Tibet, Zhatang Temple's most precious objects are its murals. Painted more than 900 years ago, the well-preserved murals are still clear.
The murals portray Buddha Sakyamuni, bodhisattvas, high-ranking officials and common people, whose clothing, decoration and social roles are important in studying the society and history of that time.
