Changzhou in East China's Jiangsu province is cooperating with Israel and top Chinese universities to develop high-tech industries.

Up to this month 15 Israeli companies specializing in high-end medical equipment, the electronics industry and financial services have invested in the city's China-Israel Innovation Park.

A further eight companies involved in trade, commercial affairs and legal consulting have also been introduced to the park.

The city has established four international science and technology cooperation centers and 10 institutes for foreign academicians.

More than 1,300 company leaders and customers from many countries, including Australia, Denmark and Singapore, attended a trade fair in Changzhou on Monday to enhance cooperation and promote high-tech industries.

Forty-five Chinese universities and 15 research institutes, including Tsinghua University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, also attended.

Last year, output of the city's high-tech industries, such as carbon materials and the photovoltaic industry, reached 480 billion yuan ($77.4 billion).

Yan Li, Party chief of Changzhou, said the city welcomes companies and entrepreneurs that can help develop high-tech industries and more preferential policies will be put forward in future.
