Internet users can submit whistle-blowing posts to expose malpractice by officials, including using public money to buy fireworks, alcohol, tobacco, flowers and food as gifts during the holidays, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China said on its website on Thursday.
Disciplinary authorities at all levels should step up supervision during the holidays, and those who breach the rules must be punished strictly, the commission said.
In a statement released on Nov 21, it said government officials and managers at State-owned enterprises are not allowed to buy gifts with public funds during the holidays.
