Top charitable donor list published

BEIJING - A list of China's biggest charitable donors was published on Saturday, naming 311 individual benefactors who donated a combined total of nearly 7.1 billion yuan ($1.14 billion) last year.

The list, jointly compiled by the China Association of Social Workers and the China Philanthropy Times, both of which are under the administration of the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA), also includes 627 enterprises that donated nearly 9.5 billion yuan last year.

Huang Rulun, president of the Century Golden Resources Group, was the biggest donator last year, giving 474 million yuan to charity.

The list has been published annually since 2004 using statistics from the MCA, social organizations, listed companies and published media reports.
