Will this make me happier? Red, red, red

They say it's the color of happiness and good luck

I'm surrounded by the color red meaning I have a nest to rest in?

Will I be happy? Will I be lucky?

Will I be peaceful like a dove and saved from all heartache?

Red is here to stay

Kenyans tell me, "You are crazy to keep working with the Chinese!"

The Chinese tell me, “You are so helpful and we enjoy working with you”

Whose voice will I listen to? Mama, mama where are you?

I want to go on the banana ride, up and down, round and round

But there is a man standing there who has no eyes

"Shhhhh child!", she says, "Stop pointing! That's a man created just like you,

You must accept everyone is different

Some small eyes, some big noses

All are created differently and all are beautiful"

Red is here to stay

But that was only a childhood memory and now this is reality

Do I go back to mama and ask her to point me in the right direction?

Or do I sit in the food court with the love of my life

We ponder on our next move and ask ourselves

Will today's efforts bring tomorrows gains

Building and construction, Teaching, Healthcare, Communication

In every sector I turn to I find them

Will I continue to resist working with them?

Red is here to stay

Or will I be missing out on a chance of a lifetime

To live a life of red, a life of happiness and good luck

A life of good fortune and pairing of cultures

They are making my life easier and better

The red seems to make sense now

Red is here to stay

We now seem to understand each other better

Make a call to the Chinese Director

The meaning no longer gets lost in communication

Talk with some Chinese Lecturers, “Zao shang hao!

Are your classes going okay? Any challenges”

We are finally dancing to the same rhythm and the fights of yesterday

The quarrels and disagreements are decreasing

What next after this semester?

Red is here to stay

Tell me, shall we continue to dance in the music of the rain

And eat with the gods of tomorrow

Will we take flight on each other's wings

They say birds of a feather flock together

Now I say birds of different feathers that flock together

Eventually form a beautiful rainbow in the sky

We love rainbows especially the red in them

Who wouldn't want a rainbow in their life?

Tell me will we persevere through the disappointment

Through the fights and the disagreements

Will we solve our differences and flock together

Who will join me in uniting Kenya and China

Who will stand with me?

Let's have a taste of each tea and enjoy

All the flavors Kenya and China have to offer

Let's go crazy till the porcupine's spikes stop pricking our chests

And all we feel is sheep's skin, soft and tender to the bone
