A hybrid rocket powered by 20 soft candies was successfully launched in Japan, the world's first attempt to fire a rocket fueled by sweets.
Japanese sweet maker UHA Mikakuto teamed up with aerospace scientists and engineers to develop the world's first candy-powered rocket, measuring 1.8 meters and weighing eight kilograms.
The rocket's maiden voyage at Kada in the western Japanese city of Wakayama, reached a height of approximately 220 meters, which is expected to be exceeded in the future and eventually reach orbit.
