He arrived in Dayton, Ohio on Jan 7, 1999, after a cousin told him there was plenty of factory work there. His wife Maria joined him in 2000, and the couple moved to Michigan when their Ohio drivers license expired. They moved to Maryland when their Michigan licenses expired. Now Pedro works weatherizing homes, while Maria works as a housekeeper for a nursing home. They have three children in the US, who are Eddie, 5, an American citizen, Lourdes, who qualified for Obamas deferred action for childhood arrivals program and Pedro Jr., who arrived in the US last year and is undocumented.
