With more than 600 delegates ranging from Fortune 500 CEOs to China's most progressive homegrown companies, the Fortune Global Forum kicked off on Thursday, June 6.

Themed "China's new future", the Chengdu based forum took place in western China for the first time, signifying the importance of the rise of China's Western provinces.

The forum will focus on four main subjects – sustainable development, innovation and technology, global finance and economic recovery and "The China Century".

Host and Managing Editor of Fortune Magazine, Andrew Sewer, expressed his expectations on this year's event.

2012 FORTUNE Global 500 saw 76 Chinese companies on the list. The full 2013 list will be published on June 8.
