Established in 1966, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is a statutory body to promote trade for Hong Kong-based traders, manufacturers and service providers.

With a network of more than 40 offices worldwide, HKTDC provides a range of services to help global trade and promote Hong Kong as a platform for doing business with China and throughout Asia.

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China this year, Wu Ziheng, the HKTDC's Chinese mainland director, spoke to China Daily about trade and economic development in Hong Kong and the mainland since 1997.
