Too many rich kids rely on parents' wealth
Comment on "Well-fed should be well-bred" (China Daily, Nov 27)
Thank you for your poignant article on the spoiled-rich-girl's micro-blog posting on her dress made of money.
Perhaps in China, like in Protestant countries, wealth is a sign of God's favor. I have met many wealthy children in my time. Though most of them have been noble and aware, others were obnoxious and obsessed with winning their "parents' lottery".
In my hometown, the son of a wealthy property developer had a very flaunty license plate on his brand new red Corvette to show he was rich. Of course, everyone in town knew he was a dope working in his father's business, but still it shocked me the first time I saw it.
