Granary, by Li Qiang [Photo/Artron.net] |
During a food-themed exhibition on Aug 11, 2012, 16 artists exhibited their creations based on their understanding of global food issues. Artist Li Qiang transported a granary used by the Wa people from Yunnan province to the gallery, and assembled it there with irony corn and sorghum put around the granary. It is said that the local people in Yunnan only keep a small amount of grain at home and the rest is put in the granary, as they think that if a fire disaster happens, they could still have food and survive. Li Qiang was inspired by the food attitude and said, "It means hope, human needs a granary."
