The popular Chinese comedy troupe Mahua FunAge is inviting fans in Guangzhou to board a "yacht", where they will watch nine young people hunt for treasure under the guise of blind dates. The troupe's latest creation, Shang Zei Chuan (Boarding the Pirate Ship), touches on romantic issues, such as blind dates, online love and extramarital affairs. In addition to hilarious dialogue, actors will also perform silly takes on several dance genres, including the waltz and Indian folk dances. Mahua FunAge initiated the "new year's play" concept in 2003. It has since developed 17 popular hits and traveled across the country to stage more than 1,200 shows.
