Berlutti ties up with top US tattoo artist
Berlutti, a 120-year-old French brand of menswear and shoes, has tied up with acclaimed Brooklyn-based tattoo artist Scott Campbell for its autumn/winter 2016/17 collection. As a result, the French company is letting its customers have their Venezia leather shoes customized with inking. Campbell contributed five original designs, which include geometric patterns, to the collection.
Pianist Li Yundi to perform at NCPA
Li Yundi will play a two-hour solo piano concert at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing on July 13. He will play pieces by Chopin. Li is also a spokesman for the Swiss luxury watch brand Rolex.
Uniqlo throws a creative challenge
Japanese fashion brand Uniqlo is inviting aspiring designers to create a T-shirt based on the cartoon characters from Nintendo, which will be featured in an upcoming collection. The results of the 2017 UT Grand Prix, which ends on Aug 31, will be announced early next year and the winner will get as much as $10,000 and be invited to the award ceremony in Japan. The winning piece will be included in the 2017 spring/summer UT collection.
New bag from Dolce & Gabbana
Dolce & Gabbana has unveiled a new bag called the Radio. The bag is an innovation based on the classic Dolce Box bag. Resembling a retro radio from the 1980s, the bag can play music when connected to a smart phone.
