China Central Television recently hosted its first forum on global distribution.
The forum was entitled Opportunities and Challenges - Strategies for CCTV International Distribution and Promotion.
More than 200 representatives from the countries including the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia shared their views and experiences on the distribution and promotion of CCTV international channels and discussed how to place its programs overseas.
As of June 2012, CCTV operates seven international channels in six languages (Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish and Arabic). It has reached distribution and cooperation agreements with television organizations in 119 countries and regions with more than 300 million subscribers worldwide.
