Born and raised in Shanxi, a province well-endowed with historical sites and relics, Guo was fascinated by classical Chinese culture and history, and chose to study the restoration of cultural relics in college. After graduating, most of her classmates entered competitive and lucrative industries, but Guo followed her own, less common calling. Beginning two years ago, Guo started to restore murals at Guangsheng Temple, which was first built in AD 147. [Photo from Guo Jia's Sina Weibo]
