Chongqing, well known for its widely popular Mahjong, never stops creating new ways to have fun with the boardgame.
Playing mahjong when diving is a hit, as playing mahjong in the swimming pool was the fashion of yesterday.
To escape the scorching summer, eight people in Chongqing, equipped with about 18kg of diving equipment, dived underwater in a swimming pool of two meters depth and played mahjong for four rounds on Sunday.
The mahjong players are required to own OW certificates (Open Water certificate) to join the game, as staying underwater is not easy.
Each round takes twice or three times longer than usual. Both players and mahjong pieces can float away at any time.
