A bird's-eye view of courtyards built in Loess land pits in Sanmenxia city of Central China's Henan province, March 30, 2016. The traditional "pit courtyards" are under conservation by local government with nearly 10,000 yards remaining. The oldest yard has a history of more than 200 years with six generations living under the roof. The cave houses were strengthened at each side of the pit walls with a depth of 6-7 meters and length of 10-12 meters. The yards are being transformed into tourist attractions and are expected to be open to visitors later this year. [Photo/IC]
