Unlike China's five yellow cattle breeds, which have low beef production and quality, the Blonde d'Aquitaine breed, which originated in France, has good quality meat and produces lean beef.
An adult Blonde d'Aquitaine is said to weigh 1,600 kg, more than 60 percent of which can be turned into beef.
"When the calves are 18 months old, they can be sold at more than 300,000 yuan ($46,470) each," said Zhou.
