NANCHANG - Xu Aimin, a senior political advisor in the eastern province of Jiangxi, was removed from his post for "serious breaches of political rules and Party discipline", it was announced on Wednesday.

Xu, vice chairman of the provincial CPPCC, was expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) in February following a graft investigation, according to the standing committee of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Xu took advantage of his post to seek employment and promotions for his daughter and son-in-law and abused his power, which led to heavy losses in state assets, according to a statement from the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Xu also employed trickery to win himself the title of "master of Chinese ceramic arts", the statement said.

Xu was Party leader of Jingdezhen, a city well-known for its ceramic production, from 2003 to 2011.
