BEIJING - China's security chief Meng Jianzhu vowed to strengthen law enforcement cooperation with Tajikistan and Afghanistan to combat terrorism and cross-border crimes on Friday.

Meng made the pledge while meeting with Radzhabali Pakhmonali, first deputy chief of the Tajik National Security Committee and director general of the country's Border Control Agency, and Mohammad Auob Salangi, executive Afghan vice minister of Interior. They are in Beijing for a China-Tajikistan-Afghanistan meeting on joint border control cooperation.

Hailing the fruitful cooperation among the three countries' law enforcement departments, Meng said China hopes to boost security and law enforcement with the two neighbors, to jointly fight against terrorism and cross-border crime and safeguard regional peace and stability.

Radzhabali and Salangi said they are willing to enhance substantial cooperation with China in security and law enforcement.
