China passes revised law for army facilities protection

BEIJING - China's top legislature on Friday passed a revised law to improve the protection of military facilities, adding provisions to stress the security of waters under military control.

Aquaculture is banned in waters under military control, and non-military facilities are not allowed to be set up in such areas, according to the revised law.

Any fishing or other activities must not affect war preparedness, training and duty performing of military ships, the law stipulates.

The law also bans building facilities or obstacles that could interfere with military radio equipment, and bans conducting activities disturbing the electromagnetic environment of military radio equipment.
