A 55-year-old woman has been rescued five days after she and her husband fell over a cliff in their car. Her husband died but she survived on just half a bottle of water and a cluster of grapes in the remote area.
The woman, who only gave her surname as Zheng, lost control of her vehicle on a slope with sharp bends on May 12 when she tried to avoid a car coming in the opposite direction in Laiyuan county, Baoding city in North China's Hebei province.
Her car plunged off the cliff and rolled more than 100 meters before being stopped by trees. Zheng and her husband were both thrown out of the vehicle.
Although seriously injured, Zheng managed to crawl back to her car where she found her cell phone. She tried to make calls but there was no signal.
On the morning of May 17, the water ran out and there were only two grapes left. She yelled for help and luckily was heard by tourists who called the police.
