"Don't want to be corrupt, can't be corrupt and dare not be corrupt" is set to become the mantra of Guangdong Provincial People's Congress which is to enact laws to prevent corruption across the province, according to Wang Bo, a standing committee official in the provincial congress, China News Service reported.

The rules will tackle issues of most concern to the public - collusion between government and businessmen; officials hiding illegally held funds or property in the names of family members and acceptance of bribes.

Power should be regulated and supervised, and that is the priority in creating graft prevention laws, said Wang.

The central government's anti-graft campaign illustrates the determination of China's leadership to create a clean administration and many senior officials have already been moved from posts due to breaches of discipline. Last year, 30,420 officials were punished for violating clean-governance rules, China's top disciplinary watchdog said.
