Guangdong High People's Court rejected a lawsuit filed by Beijing Capital International Airport bomber Ji Zhongxing against the Guangdong provincial department of public security on Wednesday.

Ji, 34, who was sentenced to six years by a Beijing court in October for setting off an explosion at the airport in July, asked the provincial department of public security to disclose its findings about what he claims was an attack against him in the city of Dongguan in 2005, according to Liu Xiaoyuan, Ji's attorney.

But the court put aside Ji's application in the final judgment, saying the public security department has the right not to disclose details of any criminal case that is still under investigation.

Ji, from Heze in Shandong province, said he set off the bomb because officials in Dongguan refused to help him after he was severely beaten in 2005.

The blast in July fractured Ji's left arm and caused minor injuries to a police officer.

Ji, who once worked in Dongguan, claimed he was beaten in 2005 by public security guards, and that the attack left him paralyzed.

But the local public security department refused to disclose details related to his alleged beating as investigations were still ongoing.

Last month, Dongguan intermediate people's court opened a public hearing on the lawsuit filed by Ji against Dongguan city government for not disclosing the findings of an investigation related to his claims of being beaten. The court has not passed a verdict yet.
