Beijing - China's Supreme People's Court released its first annual report in English on Thursday.

The report is the first of its kind in the 64-year history of China's legal development, and represents part of the top court's efforts to promote judicial publicity.

The 30,000-word report consists of four parts, namely "introduction", "law enforcement," "innovation," and "reform and development."

The "law enforcement" section shows that "In 2012, the Supreme People's Court accepted a total of 10,676 cases, 9,563 of which were concluded."

The statistics released in the report are designed to help foreign readers gain a clear picture of the achievements made by China's judiciary in 2012.
