Large Medium SmallA total of 12 officials in Jiangxi province have been suspended from their posts after a van carrying 15 children plunged into a pond in Guixi city, killing 11 on Monday.
The suspended officials reportedly include Yu Hongyan, deputy mayor of Guixi, Yang Xiaomin, the head of Guixi's education bureau, and Li Shunling, head of the city's transportation bureau, according to a report on people.com.cn,
The driver of the van has been detained by police who are still investigating the incident.
