On Friday, Evernote officially announced the number of its global users had exceeded 200 million people. The company says the number of Chinese users has increased from 1 million to 20 million since it entered China in May 2012.

"China is our second largest market in terms of users, the third largest in terms of revenue. But it is the world's largest market in terms of passion," O'Neill said.

China's 1 billion mobile internet users and the rapidly increasing number of knowledge workers in the country are the main reasons for Evernote to have such confidence in the Chinese market.
