College student develops audible-content mobile app

A female student at Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College has developed an application in which users can listen to Internet information instead of reading it word by word, ecns.cn reported.

The app enables online text information to be transformed into voice messages.

Wu Yajing, who is nearsighted, said her parents, who are also nearsighted, can hardly read Internet information, even with a big-screen smart phone, so she developed the app for them.

After a year of research and development, she designed a "voice browser of network voice synthesis". People can download the application and choose to hear what they want.

With her parents' advice and several modifications, the product is easy to use. In the first half of the year, Wu also registered a company.

The voice synthesis browser application is free to users and has been downloaded more than 10,000 times.

In the future, Wu hopes to take advantage of existing platforms, research and development to promote more and better ways to access the Internet.
