School rents classroom to hotel
Some 300 primary school students had an unforgettable first day at school as their classroom was rented out to be converted into a hotel, leaving them to read books on the playground while waiting for classes to start, chinanews.com reported.
Bazhou No 7 Elementary School in Bazhong city, Sichuan province said that it had signed a lease agreement with a hotel next door some years ago. According to the agreement, the 600 square meter building will be used as a hotel for 15 years.
The school said it had rented another building and would start classes the next day, though parents fear the newly-renovated classrooms may pose health risks to the children.
