This film's success has come as a total surprise to most. Just four days after opening on July 17, it had taken more than 400 million yuan ($64.4 million) in ticket sales. All characters come from the hit Internet show Diors Man. The protagonist, Da Peng, touches a low point in life after an accident and in order to save his life and career signs a film contract but has no idea he has just bought a ticket to further dilemmas.
More than 20 Chinese stars make cameo appearances in the directorial debut of talk show host Dong Chengpeng.
