A man in Dezhou, East China's Shandong province chose to bury himself in a "tomb" to experience what is like to be dead.
Wang Lei, 24, challenged himself by burying himself underground, where he held his breath for 11 minutes and 48 seconds before being dug out at a public show at a park, on June 20, cfp.cn reported.
He took a deep breath before the challenge. About ten minutes later, he was carried out from the "tomb" and received emergency first aid before he could stand up.
He is about to challenge the Guinness record, the report said.
