Woman outwits swindler
A Nanjing woman outwitted a swindler after she was cheated out of a huge amount of money, reported Yangtse Evening News on Wednesday.
Nanjing resident Zhu's husband was cheated out of 330,000 yuan ($52,000) in a steel deal in September last year. Shortly after the money was remitted to the swindler, Zhu logged onto the online bank account provided by him, and entered the wrong code number three times, thus freezing the account.
The swindler, who could not withdraw the money online, only withdrew 20,000 yuan from an automatic teller machine before he was arrested. Despite his failure to withdraw all the money, he was still sentenced to six years and eight months in prison for swindling.
