Zhou Wenzhong, a Standing Committee member of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), sat down with a China Daily reporter on March 6 to discuss China's two major political sessions.

Ambassador Zhou is now the secretary-general at Boao Forum for Asia, as well as the vice-president at China-US People's Friendship Association. He is also China's former ambassador to the United States.

While media are buzzing around the words "two sessions", many are still curious about the way the National People's Congress (NPC) and the CPPCC cooperate with each other, the difference between them, and the influence they have in China's political environment. Ambassador Zhou answered those questions during the interview. As a CPPCC member, he also talked about how the CPPCC functions as China's top political advisory body, how CPPCC proposals are handled, and how the CPPCC will address people's major concerns.
