Treasure trove

Editor's picks

Living Freely and Traveling Leisurely, an exhibition at the Central Academy of Fine Arts' museum, displays the beauty of folding screen painting through six large-scale masterpieces. The paintings from Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties represent an important category of the museum's treasure trove. What deserves special attention is a 6-meter-wide mountain-and-water painting on 12 screens by Qing painter Yuan Jiang. It depicts both pavilions and terraces typical in South China and steep mountain landscapes of North China.
