Some 11 leading galleries and art institutions from the Chinese mainland will attend the third annual Art Stage Singapore from Jan 24-27.

New initiatives will be launched for the event, including country pavilions for Indonesia and Australia to promote their pioneering artists, as well as the launch of the fair’s digital version, Art Stage.

More than 130 galleries will take part in the fair, 80 percent of them from Asia.

Founded in 2010 by Art Basel’s former director Lorenzo Rudolf, the fair commits to giving Asian art a louder voice on the global stage through the display of the region’s well-established artists and emerging talent.

It has a special focus on promoting Southeast Asian art, and next month’s fair will take a look at Indonesian art, in particular.
