Window cleaners arrive before fire engines to save people trapped on 28th floor

Four migrant workers became real life Spidermen after rescuing people trapped in a burning building in Jinan city, East China's Shandong province.

The four saw smoke rising out of a building when they were working on the exterior wall of a nearby tall building. Immediately they climbed down and brought their equipment to rescue anyone trapped.

As the elevator was shut due to the fire, the four decided to climb to the 28th floor to rescue people trapped by the fire and smoke.

One worker who used to be a paratropper acted as commander to direct the rescue while the other three carried equipment, weighing 35 to 40 kilograms, and climbed to save the trapped people. They wore gas masks provided by firefighters, who were busy putting out the fire and also rescuing residents.

Like Spidermen, the three rapelled down to the 28th floor from the top of the building, broke window glass and carried helpless residents out the windows and down to a safety balcony.

They didn't stop their rescue efforts until all the trapped people were rescued, the fire was put out and the building was deemed safe.

Residents in the neighborhood said the four workers arrived before the fire engines, while internet users said they were more than Spidermen by praising them as the ones with the most pure and kind hearts.

Asked what they thought about their deeds, the four said they just did what they could do at that moment.
