The five-episode TV series simply titled "Hu Yaobang" will be broadcasted on state TV channel CCTV from Friday, which is Hu's 100th birthday, its producers said in a statement.
The documentary, jointly produced by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee's Party History Research Center (PHRC) and the China Central Newsreel and Documentary film studio, highlights Hu's "important contributions in China's revolution, construction and reform drives," the producers said.
The photo album, compiled by the PHRC and containing 496 rare pictures of Hu, will highlight his "noble spirit," according to the statement.
