China is willing to boost ties with Ethiopia in industrial capacity cooperation, Premier Li Keqiang said when meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on Friday.

The Ethiopian leader is in China for the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression commemoration.

Ethiopia is China’s good African friend and important partner, Li said, adding that the people of both countries have fought bravely against the invasion of Fascism.

China firmly supports Ethiopia’s efforts to improve people’s livelihoods and develop the economy, and is willing to provide help.

Li recalled his visit to Ethiopia last year when he received a warm welcome, saying that the future for cooperation is bright.

China is willing to enhance cooperation with Ethiopia in sectors including infrastructure, human resources, industrial park construction, energy and natural recourses and finance, Li said.

Desalegn said Ethiopia is glad to be a partner of China’s industrial capacity cooperation, and the country would like to learn from China’s experience to improve its investment environment.

The two leaders witnessed the signing of a series of documents in areas including technology, electricity, finance, energy and civil aviation.
