Top legislature starts bimonthly session

BEIJING - China's top legislature convened its bi-monthly session on Wednesday to deliberate a draft law on national security, a draft amendment to the Criminal Law and an amended draft of the law on air pollution.

Legislators will also review proposals to review a draft law on cyberspace security and a draft decision to institutionalize pledges of allegiance to the Constitution, according to the agenda for the session of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee.

Also to be deliberated are proposals concerning reform of public interest litigation, establishment of new development banks and a report by the State Council on the final accounts of the central government in 2014.

The 15th bi-monthly session of this NPC Standing Committee is scheduled to be concluded on July 1.
