BEIJING - Top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng urged united front work departments to improve consultation among Chinese political parties Tuesday.

The departments should also pool wisdom to solve problems in ethnic minority work, said Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Yu, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), urged all officials of the CPC's united front work to improve work styles.

At the meeting, Sun Chunlan, newly-appointed head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, urged carrying out the united front work in every field and keeping absolute loyalty to the CPC.

Sun was appointed head of the United Front Work Department in late December, replacing Ling Jihua, who was removed from office after the CPC's discipline agency announced an investigation into him for "suspected serious disciplinary violations."
